Charles Nicholls, Founder, CEO

Gareth Jones, Chief Financial Officer

Gareth Jones has spent his 25 year career in the IT industry, building, managing and directing both business and finance teams. He has worked at world-class multinationals, and also with start-ups. In his last role Gareth was VP & General Manager EMEA for Commerce One, and was instrumental in the set-up of the European organisation. Prior to that he was EMEA Finance Director at Sybase. Earlier in his career he held senior positions at Unisys, Apollo Computer and Hewlett Packard. Gareth is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Gareth serves as part time CFO for SeeWhy and company secretary.

John Powell, Non-executive director

John Powell has over 25 years of experience in the BI, applications and database markets, and is currently President and CEO of Alfresco. Formerly he was responsible for running worldwide operations at Business Objects (NASDAQ: BOBJ). During his tenure, he grew Business Objects at 50% per annum to $415m and a market capitalization in excess of $6B. Prior to joining Business Objects, John worked in sales management positions at Oracle and Comshare.

Thomas Erickson, Non-executive director

Tom was most recently the CEO of Systinet Corporation, a privately held software company recognized globally as a leader in providing a foundation for service oriented architectures (SOA) in Global 2000 companies. Systinet was sold to Mercury Interactive in 2006, which itself was acquired by Hewlett Packard (HP). Prior to Systinet, Tom was the executive vice-president, international for webMethods, a Nasdaq listed company recognized as the fastest growing software company in the USA from 1998 to 2003. During the time that Tom was at webMethods, their international business averaged 90% annual growth.

Before webMethods, Tom was President, Asia Pacific for the Baan Company, also based in Sydney. Tom joined Baan in 1997 and before his posting to Sydney was President, MSO Division, based at the corporate head office in Reston, Virginia. In that role, he had worldwide responsibility for all maintenance management and field service business. Prior to Baan, he held a variety of worldwide executive positions in enterprise application software companies, including Watermark Software / FileNet, Delrina, Thomson Software and MRO Software. Tom is a board director of New York and Sydney based Quickcomm Software, a leader in telecom expense management (TEM) software. Tom earned his honors degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
 

Robert Thompson, Advisor

Robert Thomson was founder, Past President and CEO of Hyperion Solutions (NASDAQ: HYPL), retired from Board of Directors August 1998.

Hyperion Solutions was formed in August 1998 from Hyperion Software, the world leader in financial analytical applications and Arbor Software the creator and world leading provider of OLAP technology. Currently the company has over 1800 employees and $300 million of revenues.

Previously, Robert has held management and technical positions with: Citicorp; Citibank; Rank Xerox; Dolby System Labs. Robert is based in Bermuda, and is an active business angel on the East coast of the United States, in addition to his angel activities in Scotland. Frans van Schaik, Non-executive director

Frans van Schaik is Managing Partner of Logispring.

A graduate from the University of Amsterdam Law School, with a diploma in International Relations from the University of Vienna, he served the University of Amsterdam five years in various academic and support roles. In 1986, after a year with OCE as a project manager and member of the M&A team, he started his own Corporate Finance Advisory Firm (Intermatch, later amalgamated with Corporate Development International), followed by interalia, a high-tech/large ticket lease brokerage (Reloc & Duter), a Middle East Technical Contracting Company (IME) and a Software Support business (Florijn). The latter failed in 1991, and triggered the sale of the other – successful – businesses. From 1991, Frans concentrated on corporate finance and advising a venture capital investment he made in Singapore.

In 1993, he joined Gilde Investment Funds as a partner. During his 4 years at Gilde, he was involved in numerous new investments and portfolio companies, both in venture capital and buy-outs. He also assumed the position of temporary Managing Director for an existing portfolio company, Haag Food Services, in high care food processing, and successfully guided it through a turn-round. Having joined the other partners and shareholders in selling all Gilde Funds, the management company and the carried interest vehicles to Rabobank, he left Gilde in 1997.

Operating from his own investment and management development company, Nielaster, he then restructured, as their CEO, all the European pet food companies of Rafino Holdings (seven sites in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy). In 1998, he restructured in the role of Group Managing Director, the Industrial Division of the BCE Group (operating companies in Germany, Austria and Italy). In 1999 he initiated, in a joint venture with Goldman Sachs International, the “buy-and-build” of a Global Supply Chain Company in the Consumer Products Industry. In November 2000, TPG and Booz Allen Hamilton contacted Frans to discuss their ideas for establishing Logispring.

Frans speaks fluent English and Dutch, and very reasonable French and German. He is an enthusiastic offshore regatta sailor, plays the cello and holds a Commercial Pilot’s Licence with Multi Engine and Instrument Ratings. Sandy McKinnon, Non-executive director

Sandy McKinnon has over 8 years experience in helping successful commercialisation of defensible technology innovations. As Director of Knowledge Transfer & Technology and Research Services (TRS) at Heriot-Watt University he helped incubate twelve spin-out companies and helped them raise over £4.6M in funding. As a freelance consultant and also whilst he was with Scientific Generics in Cambridge - where he helped evolve and finally ran their Advance Technology Group - he provided due-diligence services over a wide range of sectors for a variety of blue-chip companies, institutions and VC funds.

Sandy had an Advanced Research Fellowship at Cambridge University where he worked for 6 years in Nanotechnology and Nanosensorics. His Ph.D. is for work on Amorphous Semiconductors and he has a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Dundee.  http://www.pentechvc.com/

Dermot Berkery, Non-executive director

Dermot Berkery is General Partner at Venture Capital company Delta Partners. He serves on the board of Similarity Systems, and Farran Technology. Before joining Delta, he was a Senior Manager with McKinsey & Co. in Atlanta and Dublin.
