The SeeWhy system has been designed to scale well on relatively modest hardware. However, the actual requirements for your SeeWhy system will depend entirely upon your particular monitoring scenario, in particular:
That said, the basic hardware requirements for a Windows-based machine running a SeeWhy System are as follows:
* This does not include the space requirements for third party products that may be downloaded as part of the SeeWhy Installation. Also, further database space will be required dependent on the nature of the applications you intend to build, and how often you archive data and purge the database. As a guide, 80GB of disc space should be available on machines intended for the production deployment of a complete SeeWhy monitoring scenario, however for evaluation and development purposes a much smaller amount may be sufficient; 5GB would accommodate all third party requirements and allow the development of 2 or 3 relatively complex scenarios. The SeeWhy Navigator can be used on any machine capable of running Microsoft Internet Explorer v6, and having the ability to download and run a Java Virtual Machine. |
